The answer is not that hard anymore’ thanks to the design gurus at Living By Design. They have a whole host of classic Marimekko designed sprawled across delicious 50x50cm cushions as well as 40x60cm options too. And in an array of colours and neutrals. And while you’d be mad not to snap up the Marimekko cushions, it should be noted that there’s a whole host of other designs available too. Think solid colours across velvet covers, floral and foliage designs, stripes and check patterns and so much more. Living By Design also sells inserts. So if you happen to pick up a budget cushion cover somewhere else, at least you can buy one of their divine feather fillings to make your bargain buy feel plump and plush. We used some of their cushions in our recent West Melbourne project and highly recommend. 10. West Elm Last but not least in our roundup of the best cushions in Australia I wanted to call out an accessible retail option for you. Because honestly, for some projects we exhaust all of our trade options and can’t find what we need. And so we end up shopping in stores like West Elm. And West Elm would definitely be the one I call out because it is unapologetically mid-Century modern in its style influence. So for projects that have a little MCM in them, the cushions are perfect. But truthfully, they’re great for contemporary luxe homes as well. The patterns are often not literal retro, so they’re well worth considering. As a cheeky eleventh option I would also put OZ Design in the list. They are doing amazing things with homeware of late and some of their cushions are insanely on-trend.
